AWAACC’s Poetry Unplugged presents The Century Cycle Poetry Slam

In honor of the late August Wilson, 10 Pittsburgh writers will compete in a 4-round poetry slam for a chance to win $1000 and a slot on AWAACC’s “Poetry Unplugged” event in April. Each poet will draw a title from one of August Wilson’s “American Century Cycle” plays from a fedora hat to determine the order of performances based upon the decade that the play represents. For example: the poet to pull “Gem of the Ocean” will perform first and the poet to pull “Radio Golf” will perform last.
