digital narratives:
amplyfing voices through design
This interactive workshop was presented at the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust's STEAM Symposium, an annual event that brings together students, educators, and creatives to explore the intersections of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM). The symposium highlights innovative ways to engage youth in problem-solving, critical thinking, and creative expression.
With over 150 attendees, this workshop provided a hands-on experience in digital design and visual storytelling. Participants merged art and advocacy, learning to create digital posters that amplify social causes and personal narratives. Using tools like Canva and Adobe Suite, attendees designed visuals addressing issues such as mental health, social justice, environmental sustainability, and personal empowerment.
By combining technical skills with media activism, this session empowered young designers to transform their ideas into compelling visual campaigns—demonstrating the power of digital media in shaping conversations and driving change.
